Thanks ever so much for your attention and your continued efficient support of our work! Most everyone I've talked to and worked with (students and my department head) agrees that Connect4Education's Music Appreciation course has been one of the best courses we've offered in our department.

The course material for Music History II was among the most challenging I have ever experienced or have been exposed to in any studies at the collegiate level. At the same time it was among the most interesting. From the perspective of a non-music major, or one having little exposure to any of the arts, I was at once intrigued and confused. The music and history of Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century music, and the composer's themselves, was deeper and more detailed than I could ever have imagined. In identifying the major characteristics of the periods, and some of the pieces created from the respective periods, I do so with the knowledge that I still feel as though I have only scratched the surface of such an intense music history.

I have been working with the OnMusic course for a year-and-a-half now at Coastline Community College in Fountain Valley, CA. I have watched enrollments grow from 45 last summer to 100 this summer, in a college where music class enrollments are usually between 25 and 40. I have received nothing but positive feedback from my students about the course. Several of them who have taken online classes before have said that this is the best online class experience they have ever had. They comment warmly on the user-friendly interface and the testing/grading methods. But what they really enjoy is the music. They all communicate a sense of surprise at how much they enjoy being put in touch with the world of Classical music, a world they may have never known, or have lost touch with since their youth. As a teacher, I find the format of the course to be quite enjoyable. I have learned how to use the best parts of the online experience to make the course even more enjoyable for the students, while learning techniques to make my own job even easier. Email, chat rooms and discussion forums are all available to use, and are presented in a way that puts the most nervous student at ease. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the OnMusic course, and look forward to each semester.

I was not optimistic when the college administration "suggested" I create a Music Appreciation course on-line. Most Distance Education teachers I knew spent hours everyday answering email from confused students who were simply reading the text book at home and trying to avoid any real education. Then, fortunately, I discovered ConnectForEducation. ConnectForEducation has designed a curriculum for the delivery system, rather than trying to teach material designed for the classroom over the computer. They have solved the technical problems of delivering music, and - more impressively - brief examples of music, quickly and efficiently over the computer. They have made the Course extremely interactive. And, what's more, they have made the entire package very student and teacher friendly. Having spent a great deal of time looking, I am absolutely convinced that there is no better system for delivery this course on-line anywhere. The more I use it, the more I enjoy it.
